Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland. With history and amazing views everywhere you look, it’s the perfect city to start exploring in Switzerland. Zurich Old Town stretches across the Limmat River. The river flows into Lake Zurich. On a clear day, you can see the Alps.

Zurich is not only one of the most expensive cities in Switzerland, but all of Europe. You can easily expect to pay over $500 Swiss Francs a night if you want to stay in the city. This is where points and miles come in handy.

Best Points Hotels in Zurich, Switzerland

Park Hyatt Zurich

The Park Hyatt Zurich is located in a fantastic part of the city. Lake Zurich, Old Town and the main train station are all just a short walk away. With 138 rooms including twenty-five suites, the Park Hyatt Zurich is a sought-after hotel for those traveling to Zurich. The hotel has tons of amenities including two dining options, two bars, spa, fitness center and even a baby sister service.

Park Hyatt is expensive. Nights start at around $650 a night when using cash. For points redemptions, this is a Category 7 World of Hyatt hotel.

All this being said, I stayed at this hotel back in summer 2021. I didn’t love my stay. It seems hit or miss if Globalists like the hotel.

Zurich Marriott Hotel

The Zurich Marriott Hotel is in the heart of Zurich. The hotel features spectacular views of Zurich and Swiss Alps. It is located on the banks of the Limmat River. If you have Marriott Platinum status or above, hopefully you get upgraded into a suite to experience those views. The hotel also features several dining options.

You can expect points nights to be between 50,000 to 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night. Sometimes, it drops down to 40,000 Bonvoy points per night or over 60,000. These aren’t common. If you use cash, the Zurich Marriott is around $325 to $550 each night.

Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle

They Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle opened in 2021. As the name implies, the Hyatt Regency Zurich is located outside the Zurich Airport in a popular shopping area called The Circle. Most people would consider the location a downside. But the airport has a train station that can get you anywhere in the city and even regionally.

The Hyatt Regency Zurich is my favorite hotel on this list. It’s better in almost every way than the Park Hyatt Zurich.  

Neues Schloss Privat Hotel Zurich, Autograph Collection

The Neues Schloss Privat Hotel Zurich, Autograph Collection is located where the Limmat River meets Lake Zurich. It’s located in a historic 1930s Art Deco styled building but with a modern theme.

Cash rates hover around $525 a night. Points nights range between 40,000 to 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

How to Earn These Points

Marriott partners with both Chase and American Express for a ton of personal and business credit cards. One of the best Marriott personal cards is the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card. It offers Marriott Platinum status just for holding the card. Platinum status gets free breakfast and room upgrades. You can also transfer both Chase and American Express points to Marriott. Like Hilton, transferring flexible points to Marriott isn’t great value.

World of Hyatt points are a bit hard to earn. But they do partner with Chase for a personal and business credit card. Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to World of Hyatt. This transfer is one of my favorite ways to use Ultimate Rewards points. I love using the Chase Sapphire Reserve for any travel purchases to earn my Ultimate Rewards points.

Best Points Hotels in Zurich, Switzerland Bottom Line

This is not an exhaustive list of all the hotels in Zurich. There are several other great Marriotts available throughout the city that would be a good use of points. Hyatt partners with a couple Small Luxury Hotels, but they usually don’t haven’t availability. Both Hilton and IHG have hotels available. Those are extended stay hotels. If that is more your style, don’t let this list tell you they are horrible hotels!
