The Thompson Nashville is located in a great area for those looking to explore The Music City. From music to history, Nashville has plenty to offer, but when you are done for the day the property has a lot to offer inside.

Location

The Thompson Nashville is located in The Gulch area of Nashville, Tennessee. There are tons of nearby shopping, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. Broadway and downtown are a quick ride share away.

Booking

Cash rates vary from $250 a night to upwards of $400 depending on date. This is a category 6 property. Standard rooms will set you back 25,000 World of Hyatt points per night.

World of Hyatt is a Chase partner. You can transfer Ultimate Rewards in the exact amount needed. You can also earn WOH points from the Chase World of Hyatt card.

Check-In

I dropped my car with the friendly valet. He helped with my bags and in I went. The woman at the front desk was also friendly. I inquired about a suite upgrade, but they were sold out during my stay. Though I was upgraded to a corner room due to my Hyatt Globalist status. This is the same room type an Explorist could expect.

I was handed my keys and off I went to my room.

When you first walk in, there is an area to the right to hang up clothes. There was also a spot to set your luggage.

Walk a little further and you’ll enter the bedroom. On the right is a small desk with the TV over it.

On the far side was a little sitting area with a small uncomfortable chair. Next to that was a full stocked mini bar. Prices were outrageous.

In the middle of the room was the bed. Each side has its own table with plenty of power for device charging.

The bathroom is on the left when you first walk in. It was designed with the user in mind. The rainfall shower was a perfect place wash off after a long night. There was a small amount of counter space.

Dining

There are a couple different options.

In-room service was available. Plan ahead as it did take about 40-45 minutes to receive after placing my order.

There is a rooftop bar and restaurant call LA Jackson. Hours vary based on season. I was never able to make it up here during my stay. It also rained most of the days during my stay.

The heart of dining options is the Marsh House. There are two entrances. One from inside the Thompson and another from the street. The Marsh house has indoor and outdoor seating.

During both of my breakfast’s, there was hardly anyone there. I picked up my food and took it back to my room.

Another breakfast option is Killebrew Coffee. They had a few grab and go options like sandwiches. Their biggest draw was the coffee. There was always a line throughout the day. The coffee was delicious. I wish I lived closer to have it more often.

Globalist free breakfast can be taken in either the Marsh House or Killebrew Coffee.

Bottom Line

The Thompson Nashville is in a wonderful location. The staff was excellent. There is clearly a great culture at the property. I think it’s a bit overpriced for the city. I saw a couple different bridal showers and bachelor party groups during my stay. If you’re ever in Nashville and looking for a higher end property, this is a great option.
