A couple weeks ago, a rumor swirled that Marriott credit card offers for Chase and American Express were increasing to historic levels. Today, those rumors came true. The offers are truly historic. Even better than last year’s five free night awards valued at up to 50,000 Bonvoy points each.
In this Post:
Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™ American Express® Card
This card offers the most potential for maximum value. The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™ American Express® Card is offer points and a free night award as part of its welcome offer. New accounts will receive 150,000 Bonvoy points plus a free night award valued at up to 85,000 Bonvoy points after completing a $5,000 minimum spend in the first three months of card opening.
This offer is worth up to 235,000 Bonvoy points if you completely maximize the free night award. While the card comes with a steep annual fee of $450 (Rates & Fees), you also get a ton of benefits including:
- Up to $300 in statement credits from Marriott properties.
- Free night award valued up to 50,000 Bonvoy points.
- Each January (and about a week after applying), you receive 15 elite nights. These nights aren’t redeemable at hotels, but help you get closer to a higher level of status. Pair this with a business Bonvoy card and you’ll receive 30 elite nights from credit cards.
- Automatic Gold status
This offer expires on November 3, 2021.
Marriott Bonvoy Business™ American Express® Card
For this card, there are two elements to the Marriott Bonvoy Business™ American Express® Card welcome offer. New cardmembers can earn 125,000 Marriott Bonvoy points AND 2 free night awards valued up to 50,000 Bonvoy points after spending $5,000 in qualifying purchases within the first three months of account opening.
If you are able to maximize the full 50,000 value of the free night award, that’s a total value of
225,000 Bonvoy points. Beyond the welcome offer, the card also offers some good benefits for a modest $125 annual fee. (Rate & Fees).
- On each account anniversary, you’ll have one free night award deposited into your Bonvoy account. This free night is valued at up to 35,000 Bonvoy points. I’ve used my free night award at Hotel Drover.
- 15 elite nights toward status.
This offer expires on November 3, 2021.
Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless™ Credit Card
Like the American Express cards, you can earn both points and a free night award after completing the minimum spend on the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless. You’ll earn 125,000 Bonvoy points plus a free night award valued up to 50,000 Bonvoy points after spending $5,000 in the first three months of card opening.
This represents a total of 175,000 Bonvoy points if you can maximize the free night award. For a low annual fee of $95, you’ll get some benefits including:
- 15 elite nights toward status
- Annual free night awards valued up to 35,000 Bonvoy points.
There is currently no end date set for this welcome offer, but I’d expect it to end the same date at the American Express offers.
Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Credit Card
The only no annual fee card on this list, the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold offers a pretty good amount of points for the welcome offer. You’ll receive 60,000 Bonvoy points after completing a $2,000 minimum spend in the first three months of opening the card.
It does come with a few benefits:
- 15 elite nights yearly.
- No foreign transaction fees.
Like the Boundless, there is no end date set for this welcome offer. I’m not sure this card is worth an application when compared with the other offers that were updated today.
Massive Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card Offers Bottom Line
These are the highest these cards have ever been. Typically, offers are much lower. You can get the welcome offer are all of these cards as they are considered separate products. Some restrictions do apply to bonus eligibility rules. One downside to the free night awards are the inability to add Bonvoy points to the award in order to redeem at a higher category hotel.
The Chase Marriott Boundless and the Amex Bonvoy Business are probably the best options for most points and miles enthusiasts. You’ll earn a bit less than with the Brilliant, but you’ll get ton of points with a low annual fee. If under 5/24, focus on the Boundless. If over 5/24, now might be the perfect time to make the Bonvoy Business your next credit card.
