The last stop on my California Adventure was the Grand Hyatt at SFO. This is the perfect hotel for an early morning flight out of SFO or an overnight connection. This was my second visit to the hotel with my first coming in 2021. Most of the hotel was shut down so I was really looking forward to experiencing everything this airport hotel had to offer. Sadly, it didn’t work out that way.
Just as food arrived, I received notification that my flight was delayed. Because of this, I would miss my connecting flight. Normally, I wouldn’t care but the connecting flight was the last flight back to home. I ended up switching to a flight that departed in an hour. This review will only focus on the room.
Grand Hyatt at SFO Review
Grand Hyatt at SFO Location
The Grand Hyatt at SFO is located right outside the terminals of San Francisco International Airport. The AirTran conveniently goes underneath the hotel. There is a short walk from the station to the check-in desk.
The Room – 1 King with Runway View
After a quick check-in, I headed up to my room. I was assigned room 1142.
The bathroom was on the left when you first walk in. It was a nice size even if it seemed some of the space was unused. I think I would rather have a smaller bathroom and a bigger bedroom area.
There was a walk-in shower on the left side of the bathroom. Water pressure and heat were excellent. The toilet was to the right of the shower. The massive counter space only had one sink. That was a bit odd in my opinion.
The coolest thing about the bathroom was the fantastic image of Half Dome above the toilet.
A wardrobe could be found across from the bathroom. Inside was a robe, iron and a few hangers.
The pathway opened as you moved past the wardrobe. A king-sized bed was on the left side of the room. A small table and light could be found on both sides of the bed. A chair and ottoman was in the corner. I enjoyed sitting there are night watching all the international planes take off.
The television was across from the bed. A coffee bar was located below the television. There were a few Nepresso pods and two bottles of water.
In the opposite corner was a little sitting area. It had a chair and a small table. I did a bit of work from here before I went to bed.
During my first stay, I loved the view! Even though travel was not back to where it is today, I enjoyed watching the few planes come by. This time there was so many! It was cool to see a British Airways plane going by when I first walked it.
Grand Hyatt at SFO Bottom Line
Even though I was bummed I wasn’t able to enjoy other aspects of the hotel. I enjoyed my stay. The room was spacious and clean. All staff I interacted with were amazing. When I informed breakfast staff, I needed to leave. They were understanding and tried to grab togo boxes.
You cannot beat the location of this hotel. It is super convenient. Highly recommend this hotel if you need to be near SFO Airport.
