Almost any lounge can be a nice quiet retreat from the hectic pace of travel. The DFW Admirals Club in Terminal C was no exception on my visit. Hoping to start my day off with a bang. After clearing security at DFW, I headed to the Admirals Club in Terminal C. Since my day was starting off early, I wanted to grab a quick bite and coffee.
The Admirals Club in Terminal C satisfied exactly what I needed it to.
Getting Access
There are several avenues for access. Flyers on qualifying international business and first-class tickets can gain access. AA elite members holding Platinum status and above get access on qualifying international tickets regardless of cabin class. Because I’m a Platinum AAdvantage member, this is how I gained access to lounges throughout this trip.
Cardholders of the Citi AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard. No need to bring your card. It will be reflected in you AAdvantage account. Authorized users will need to show their physical card to gain access.
You can also use your annual airline credit for the The Platinum Card® from American Express, American Express® Gold Card, The Business Platinum® Card from American Express. Remember to select AA as your airline before you charge your day pass.
Hours
The Terminal C location is open daily from 4AM to 10:15PM.
Location
Located just past security between gates 19 and 20. A fancy looking entrance let you know you had arrived. A short elevator ride up took you to the main check in counter. I presented by boarding pass and a gentleman checked me in without so much as a hello. Maybe he was still waking up? It was 4AM!
Areas
There was lots of open sitting during my visit as there was not too many people visiting the lounge. I did struggle to find some outlets to power my devices. So, I’d like to see them improve in this area in the future.
The sitting areas were clean and mostly comfortable.
A children’s area was provided in the back. There was only a TV and two computers available. A more functioning space for kids would be a nice improvement. I’m sure that they would like a place to run and play after a long flight.
If you were hoping for views, you aren’t going to find it here. Dark blinds obscured the arrival pick up area.
I did find that the Admirals Club to be dark. I’m sure due to the early hour. There are no showers available in this lounge.
Food and Drink
There wasn’t a whole lot available this early in the morning. Light bites were on the menu. I found assorted fruit, oatmeal and cereal as well as a couple of bread types.
Water, fruit infused water, orange juice and coffee were available.
Alcohol wasn’t out yet. It was a bit too early in the morning.
Bathroom
The bathroom was dark. I mean really dark almost like emergency lighting was on. It was impossible to take a decent picture.
People with vision problems would need assistance during the early morning.
But the toilets and sinks were clean and well stocked.
Overall
This was a nice place to grab a quick bite before my flight. I was lucky that my gate was right outside the Admirals Club. It may be hard to find a place to charge your phone during peak hours. If you’re hoping for views and you have a bit of time, it may be worth heading on the SkyTrain to Terminal D. But if you just have a bit of time before your flight in Terminal C this Admiral’s Club is more than sufficient.
