If you are new to points and miles, you probably only have Chase credit cards. After all, that’s where we recommend starting with points and miles. This is mostly due to Chase’s 5/24 rule. But Chase also has an amazing lineup of airline and hotel transfer partners.

Chase’s airline and hotel transfer partners offer tons of flexibility for traveling nearly the entire world. Want to fly business or first class? Chase Ultimate Rewards can make that happen. Prefer economy flights over luxury hotels? Chase Ultimate Rewards can make that happen.

Chase Airline Transfer Partners

You must transfer a minimum of 1,000 points each time you transfer. Unless there is a transfer bonus, all points transfer at a 1:1 ratio. For every Chase point you transfer to an airline or hotel, you’ll end up with one point of the airline or hotel point.

Aside from Flying Blue and Singapore, points transfer instantly. You may need to log out and log back into your loyalty account to see your transferred points.

Airlines

Aer Lingus Aer Club

Aer Lingus doesn’t get as must talk in the points and miles world as other Chase transfer partners like Singapore or Air Canada. And for good reason! The airline’s award chart isn’t quite good as others on this list and they lack a good lineup of partner airlines.

But there are a few good uses of Aer Lingus. During off-peak dates, you can book flights to Dublin from the United States for 13,000 Avios in economy or 50,000 Avios in business class each way.

Air Canada Aeroplan

Air Canada is hands down one of the best airlines to transfer your points to with Chase. With nearly fifty airlines to redeem points on and a great award chart. United Airlines is one of those transfer partners.

Air Canada does not pass on fuel surcharges or carrier-imposed fees. This can easily save you hundreds of dollars. Take ANA for example. ANA charges their own loyalty program $800 on a round trip from the US to Tokyo.

Their award pricing is equally amazing. If you want to fly to Europe in business class, it only costs 60,000 Aeroplan points. There are some amazing airlines you can book including Lufthansa, Emirates, and SWISS. On top of everything, Aeroplan offers a stopover on all award tickets for just 5,000 points.

Air France/KLM Flying Blue

Flying Blue is another amazing award program particular for US to Europe redemptions. Economy awards start at 22,5000 while business starts at 55,000 each way. But pricing worldwide is favorable when compared to other programs. Watch out for their dynamic pricing.

Flying Blue also offers Promo Rewards each month. These can allow you to save between 25 and 50% off economy and business class flights. Flying Blue also just implemented a free stopover program.

Flying Blue partners with Delta. You should be able to find Delta flights if Delta has made the flight available to Flying Blue.

Air France Business Class

British Airways Executive Club

British Airways is a popular airline to redeem with for short haul flights. These are flights typically under 2,000 miles long. Most flights within the United States fall into this category. You’ll find pricing as low as 9,000 Avios. British Airways doesn’t fly domestic flights in the US. Instead, you’ll be flying BA’s partners American Airlines and Alaska Airlines.

Long haul pricing is a bit less favorable. British Airways prices their award based on how far you fly. Another downside of British Airways is taxes and fees. These can be especially brutal if flying business or first class. It can easily set you back $1,200 a ticket!

Emirates Skywards

For luxury flight lovers, look no further than Emirates. Their first class flights are some of the most sought after redemptions in points and miles. If flying on an A380, you’ll get to enjoy their onboard shower so you can be refreshed before you land. Business class is just as amazing as their first class.

Iberia Plus

If you’re looking to head to Spain during the winter, Iberia might be one of the first programs to start an award search with. During this time, Iberia charges 34,000 Avios to fly between the US and Madrid in business class each way.

One catch. You cannot transfer to Iberia if your Iberia account has not been open for at least thirty days. Open an Iberia account before you need to book an award through them.

JetBlue TrueBlue

JetBlue isn’t a transfer partner that we would recommend most people transfer their Ultimate Rewards point to. JetBlue award pricing is dependent on how much the cash cost is. The value of your points will vary between 1.1 with Mint redemptions and 1.4 cents per point on economy redemptions.

If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, you should consider checking the portal for pricing before transferring your points.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer

Singapore Airlines might not make sense initially for domestic flyers. But they do have great pricing for United flights.

Outside of the United States, Singapore is fantastic for premium cabin redemption to Asia and Oceania. If you are looking to fly their first class or suites product, you’ll need to book directly with Singapore.

Southwest Rapid Rewards

Southwest is one of the popular airlines for domestic flyers Outside of their low fares and free checked bags, it’s hard to pass up the Companion Pass. The Southwest Companion Pass gives you buy one get one flights. No need to use cash. You can book a free flight even if you use points. That’s where Ultimate Rewards points come in.

Even without the Companion Pass, Southwest redemptions are great. Just watch for high prices. Like JetBlue, Southwest points pricing depends on the cash price.

United MileagePlus

United is another domestic option within the United States and internationally. A massive benefit of United is low taxes and fees.

One of our favorite ways to United miles is the United Excursionist Perk. This allows you to add a free one-way flight so long as the flight is within the same region. Let’s say you want to fly Chicago to Tokyo, Tokyo to Seoul, and Seoul to Chicago. Your Tokyo to Seoul flight will price as zero miles. You must book a round trip ticket to be eligible for the Excursionist Perk.

United does have dynamic pricing. You can expect to pay different prices for the same flight. Watch out for this before transferring your points.

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

Virgin Atlantic is another solid airline for transferring points. Virgin partners with several great airlines like Delta and Air France/KLM. The airline will soon join SkyTeam opening up the ability to use points on more airlines. Outside of Europe, Virgin has an amazing partnership with ANA. First Class flights start at 55,000 one way to Europe.

Virgin Atlantic does have high taxes and fees when flying to Europe.

Hotels

IHG One Rewards

IHG probably isn’t one of the best hotel programs to transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards to. The hotel program prices their nights dynamically. But the max number of points per night is 120,000.

It is critical that you figure out your cent per point on IHG redemptions to ensure you are getting value on the transfer. Points used in the portal for the Sapphire Preferred are valued at 1.25 while the Sapphire Reserve is 1.5. Any transfers should be higher than this.

Marriott Bonvoy

Like IHG, most Marriott transfers won’t make sense. This is due to Marriott’s dynamic pricing. Expect top luxury hotels to vary between 70,000 to 120,000 Marriott points per night.

Marriott does offer Fifth Night Free when using points. With this, you’ll only pay for four nights. This could help make up for the higher pricing.

World of Hyatt

Hyatt is the only hotel program we recommend transferring points to. They have an excellent award chart that tops out at 45,000 points per night on standard rooms. On the other hand, there are also hotels that only cost 3,500 points a night!
