What does Singapore bring to mind? Is it the Marina Bay skyline? Shopping? The country at the center of the 2018 film Crazy Rich Asians is typically a place most points and miles enthusiasts will pass through. I wouldn’t recommend skipping Singapore. It’s a great place to have a stopover

All four major brands (Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and IHG) have options around Singapore.

Best Points Hotels in Singapore

Andaz Singapore

The first Hyatt on this list is the Andaz Singpore. The hotel is located in a mix use tower with apartments and offices. The hotel lobby sits on the 25th floor. Guest rooms take up the remaining floors of the tower.

The hotel décor is modern with some traditional Singapore vibes. Guest rooms are large. The smallest room type is 409 square feet and comes with a sitting area and large wardrobe. Rooms have views of the city or Marina Bay Sands.

Several amenities and restaurants are on-site. An upscale Cantonese restaurant and a steakhouse are available on the upper levels of the hotel. Both come with incredible views. If you just want a drink, Mr. Stock can be found on the top floor. Groups can dine in teepee huts! Breakfast is served in Alley on 25. It’s a buffet style break covering several rooms including an Asian option.

This is a category 5 Hyatt hotel. You can easily transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt to book.

Fun Fact: The Andaz Singapore was the first Hyatt hotel I stayed at.

Conrad Centennial Singapore

Hilton has a pretty strong present in Singapore. One of their most luxury properties is the Conrad Centennial Singapore. This hotel is located right on the outskirts of the Marina Sands Bay.

Guest rooms are styled with modern décor all with neutral colors. There are a couple of dining options. The most popular are Golden Peony and Oscar’s. Golden Peony is Cantonese style restaurant. You can enjoy dim sum or Peaking duck. Oscar’s serves international food. You can get the buffet or order a la carte.

Hilton makes almost all room types available with points. But only a certain amount might be available at standard pricing. The Conrad Singapore is one property you probably want to book in advanced. Standard pricing is 60,000 Hilton Honors points for the base room type. Without standard pricing, larger rooms might easy for 300,000 points a night!

Duxton Reserve Singapore, Autograph Collection

I debated including this hotel on the list just for keeping the list shorter. But I absolutely love the décor of the Duxton Reserve Singapore, Autograph Collection. The hotel is styled by former bond girl and interior designer Anouska Hempel.

The Duxon is located in the heart of Chinatown. Some tourist sites are not walkable. There aren’t any subway spots nearby. The décor is modern but with Asian influences. The hotel overview shares that guests get a multi-sensory intimate tea ceremony on arrival.

There is one dining option on site, Yellow Pot Tanjong Pagar. This is a gastronomic Chinese restaurant. It’s only open for a couple of hours around lunch time and dinner.

Marriott does have dynamic pricing. Points nights start at 40,000. But generally, range between 40,000 and 50,000. That means you could use the annual free night award from the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card plus some additional points.

Even though I am a Hyatt girl, I might schedule a layover and try this hotel out.

Grand Hyatt Singapore

Similar to the Andaz Singapore, the Grand Hyatt Singapore was the second Hyatt I ever stayed at. While I didn’t love location along Orchard Road, I did enjoy the room probably a tad more than the Andaz.

This is a massive hotel with 677 rooms. If you are looking to shop on Orchard Road, this is the perfect location even if it’s located off the Orchard Road. Other nearby sites include Fort Canning Park and Clarke Quay. Several of the dining options are undergoing a renovation.

Hilton Singapore Orchard

On the other side of Orchard Road shopping area is the Hilton Singapore Orchard.

Rooms are modern similar to what you would find at a Marriott or Hyatt Regency. There are tons of restaurants outside of the hotel, but there are several dining options on-site. Estate features an all-day dining buffet with options from around the world. Ginger.Lily is similar to an upscale bar offering afternoon and cocktails. If Italian is more your style, Osteria Mozza is a Michelin star restaurant. Shisen Hanten is a two Michelin star Szechuan option.

Standard nights begin at 60,000 Hilton Honors points.

Intercontinental Singapore

During my first trip to Singapore, I walked past The Intercontinental Singapore. I remember thinking “one day. I’ll get to stay here one day.” Little did I know, I’d end up staying almost exclusively at Hyatt.

Rooms are modern but give vibes of a previous time period with influences from the local Singapore cultural.

This Intercontinental is located in the Bugis and Brash Basah area of Singapore. It is located near the National Museum of Singapore, Sultan Mosque and Marina Bay Sands.

Due to IHG’s dynamic pricing, you never know how many points you’ll need. Something in the range of 50,000 to 60,000 IHG points would be acceptable. But always check the cash price.

Intercontinental Singapore Robertson Quay

The Intercontinental Singapore Robertson Quay is an a vastly different location than the others. It is located along the Singapore River. The hotel has 225 rooms. But don’t worry about it being further from the sites. The subway system in Singapore is top notch!

Better yet, you can find points nights for as low as 35,000 IHG points per night.

JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach

The JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach is located in a great area of Singapore. It’s within an easy walk to sites like the Singapore Flyer but also near the popular mall, Millenia Walk.

Rooms are on the small side but are beautifully appointed. Some rooms even have views of the historic Raffles Singapore.

Points nights range from 40,000 to 60,000 Bonvoy points. You can use your Marriott 35K or 50K Free Night Awards here if you top them off with more Bonvoy points.

How to Earn These Points

While you can book Hyatt hotels through the portal, I recommend booking direct. You’ll best be served by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt. That’s one of my favorite uses of UR! Chase is the only flexible currency that transfers to Hyatt. Cards that earn UR like the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Ink Business Cash are the easiest way to earn points for Hyatt transfers. Hyatt also partners with Chase for their personal and business credit cards.

Hilton does partner with American Express. You could transfer your Membership Rewards points to Hilton to book or use the portal. I wouldn’t recommend that unless you transfer to top off your Hilton account. It is better to earn via their four cobranded credit cards. These cards typically have high welcome offers that come around frequently. Don’t be afraid to wait for a better offer!

Marriott points are fairly easy to earn. While you can transfer UR to Marriott, I wouldn’t recommend it. You’ll use some value on the transfer. Only transfer points if you need a few to top off your account. Cobranded cards are the best ways to earn Bonvoy points. Both Chase and American Express issue Marriott cards.

If there is a theme for earning points to use at the hotels on this list, its Chase. UR points can be transferred to IHG. But like Marriott and Hilton, I wouldn’t transfer your flexible points. The best way to earn IHG points is through the Chase personal and business IHG cards. These typically have great welcome offers.

Best Points Hotels in Singapore Bottom Line

There are tons of hotels from each of the major hotel brands. Location can vary widely. Depending on where your trip is focused, you might prefer a hotel near Orchard Road or near Marina Sands Bay.

There are more hotel options from the four major brands. This list doesn’t include other brands like Accor. The historic hotel Raffles Singapore is a member of Accor. But if you are looking for a great hotel with a high redemption value, the twelve hotels on this list are your best bet.
