The third largest city in Italy is the topic of our next best points hotels list. The area dates back to the 2000s BC. That’s not a typo. Today, Naples is a modern city with tons of historical sites and busy city center. If you are a foodie, there are tons of options including some Michelin Star restaurants. The city isn’t to be confused with the similarly named city of Naples, Florida.
This will be a short list as only two major hotel brands are making this best hotels list: IHG and Marriott. IHG only has a handful of options while Marriott only has one. My fan fave Hyatt is not represented. In fact, Hyatt doesn’t even have a presence in the city available to use points. Luckily, both hotels on this list are solid. They are worth a consideration before choosing a boutique hotel.

Best Points Hotels in Naples, Italy
Holiday Inn Naples
Our first hotel is from IHG. The Holiday Inn Naples is located about 15 minutes from the Naples Airport and near a major train station. Even though the Holiday Inn is located in the business area of Naples, you can still easily access tourist sites in the city and beyond. While the hotel doesn’t have a lot of features, there is an on-site gym so you can still get your workout in.
Like cash rates, points nights can vary in price. This is due to IHG’s dynamic pricing. Cheap cash nights can erase the value of your points. You might also consider using the Pay Yourself Back function with Chase.
Renaissance Naples Hotel Mediterraneo
The Marriott hotel on this list is the Renaissance Naples Hotel Mediterraneo. While the bathrooms are pretty basic in my opinion, the rest of the hotel is gorgeous! There are two different restaurants on-site plus a bar. A large gym will help you burn off the calories.
Marriott has recently implemented dynamic pricing. The most expensive the night the more points required. This is previously what you could expect.
Off-Peak | Standard | Peak |

30,000 | 35,000 | 40,000 |
Category 5 Marriott Bonvoy Redemptions
But these prices, still generally hold true. Most nights were can typically be found in the 35,000 to 37,000 point range. I didn’t find anything more than 38,000.
If you have any free night awards valued up to 35,000 Bonvoy points, you can use that certificate at this Renaissance.

How to Earn These Points
For both hotels, points will be best earned via cobranded credit cards.
Marriott has partnered with both Chase and American Express for their cobranded cards. Typically, the cards with the highest welcome offers are the Chase Marriott Boundless Credit Card and the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card. While you can transfer from both Ultimate Rewards and Membership Rewards, I wouldn’t recommend it unless points needed were low or to top off your Bonvoy account for a redemption.
IHG recently refreshed their credit card line up and loyalty program. Usually, the Chase IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card has the best offer. But you can also get the welcome offer from the IHG Rewards Club Traveler Credit Card.
Best Points Hotels in Naples, Italy Bottom Line
Due to its location, the Hilton Sorrento Palace was excluded from the list. It’s about an hour a half south of Naples. But near other amazing sites like Sorrento, Pompei and Mount Vesuvius.
IHG has a couple of other Holiday Inns and partner with the Mr. and Mrs. Smith brand. There are several of those through the Naples region.
There aren’t a ton of major hotel brands in Naples. I sure wish they opened some other hotels. Hint Hint Hyatt.
