There are several reasons that I continue coming back to Hyatt. Between my favorite hotels, treatment from staff and my status, I plan on staying at Hyatt brand hotels whenever possible.
Hyatt rewards its elite members for staying more through Milestone Rewards. Think of the Milestone awards like presents from Hyatt.
Hyatt Milestone Awards
Milestone Awards are gifts from Hyatt when you stay a certain amount of night. While these are technically separate from elite status, you’ll need to have some sort of elite status to earn them.
The 2022 requirements for status are:
- Discoverist: 10 qualifying nights or 25,000 base points
- Explorist: 30 qualifying nights or 50,000 base points
- Globalist: 60 qualifying nights or 100,000 base points
Milestone Rewards fill in the gaps between status levels and reward you the more you stay.

If there is only one option for a milestone award, you’ll automatically have it deposited to your Hyatt account. If you have a choice, you have 90 days to decide. You’ll receive an email to make your choice.
2022 Hyatt Milestone Awards
Keep in mind these milestone awards do expire.
- Club Access Awards are valid for the remainder of the year plus 14 additional months. If you receive them in November 2022 they will expire in February 2024. If you do lose status, you’ll still be able to use them.
- Free Night Awards expire 180 after being issues.
- FIND discount expires after six months.
2022 Hyatt Milestone Awards Bottom Line
If you have the personal World of Hyatt card, you can get a jump start on earning the milestone awards. It offers 5 elite nights just for holding the card. You’ll only need 15 more nights to earn the first milestone award.
Personally, I value the Free Night Awards and Suite Upgrade Awards. If you typically stay at Hyatt House or Hyatt Place hotels, you might not find value in the SUA. Once you get Globalist status, you may not find value in the Club Access Lounges. But you can use them on other room that are booked under your name.
